We hope you had a relaxing half term break and are looking forward to an exciting term ahead!
Friday 28th February: Australia day! Fancy dress: summer clothes.
Friday 6th March: World Book Day. Children are invited to dress up as a character from their favourite books.
Our topic this half term is Australia: The Land Down Under. We are going to begin this topic by looking at the seven continents and using maps, atlases and globes to find both the UK and Australia. We are going to learn all about life in Australia including the weather, animals and activities.
In English we will be a postcard about our ‘trip’ to Australia. We will then be writing a non-chronological report about an Australian animal and a report about the life cycle of a frog.
We will begin this term by learning how to tell the time to smaller intervals, starting with o’clock, half past, quarter to and quarter past. We will then continue consolidating our work on addition and subtraction and multiplication and division.
Our PE sessions will be moving to a Thursday morning. Please remember to send in your child's PE kit for this day each week.
Swimming lessons will continue to be Wednesday mornings until 4th March for Years 3 and 4.
Books will continue to come home on a Friday. Please fill in your child’s reading diary when you have read with them.
Spelling words will also come home on a Friday afternoon. Please return the folder to school the following Friday so we can give the children new flash cards.
